IMPACT-se is a research, policy and advocacy organization that monitors and analyses education across the world to determine compliance with international standards on peace and tolerance as derived from UNESCO declarations and resolutions and to advocate for change when necessary.
A pioneer in the field of textbook analysis, IMPACT-se presents a clear picture of how different nations educate their children in relation to religion, societies, cultures, democratic values and the “other.” It is dedicated to peacemaking between peoples and nations by encouraging acceptance of the “other” and rejection of violent conflict.
IMPACT-se aims to prevent radicalization of children and youth – the most vulnerable members of society. We believe that children should be nurtured and prepared for futures of hope, success and happiness; taught to embrace mutual respect and the acceptance of the “other”.
The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education — is a registered non-profit, non-partisan research institute. It is governed by a Board, General Assembly and a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Founded in 1998, IMPACT-se has engaged in the research of school textbooks, teacher’s guides and curricula used in the Palestinian Authority, Israel, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Iran. Its reports have been used by members of the US Congress, the EU Parliament and the Israeli Knesset.
